It has been several years since I read anything by David Eddings and reading this book felt like slipping into a comfortable pair of shoes. Maybe if he OK at best. Picked it up last week when I was craving fantasy and enjoyed it more than I remembered. Although they initially appear formidable, these creatures are revealed to be slow and stupid, and are easily held back by the defenders.

How to write a great review. The flaws are ereamers numerous, it is nigh impossible to list them all here. I am one of many, many long-time Eddings fans and maybe that’s the problem.
This is a story about four gods who are reaching the point when they have to hibernate and let their domain to a second generation, in a cycle that span the aeons.
However, as the fort was finished and the domain of Zelana was seemingly impregnable, the Vlagh’s servants revealed their clever trick. The books are written in sections each with about chapters and each time a new one is started, it usually gives background information on a specific character and then tells the story from their perspective.
The book consist of dialogue and all the characters keep repeating the same things over and over.
